Since I started a new job (last January) I have negleted my blog. Sorry! Keep an open mind.. Say yes to a low fat, heart healthy version of an all time favorite. The burger.
Ingredients
Burger
2 lbs. ground turkey
1 tbs dried cilantro
1 tsp chili powder
Whole grain buns or Whole grain sandwich rounds (100 calories and yummy)
Burger Directions: Mix all ingredients in bowl and form into patties. From here you can grill or George Foreman the burgers till NO pink.
Guac
2 avocados
1 roma tomato, seeded and diced
1 jalopeno, seeded and diced (1/2 if you don't like it hot)
1/2 small yellow onion, diced
1 tsp chili powder
cilantro, fresh chopped ( this is just the amount you like)
Guac Directions: Put everything in a food processsor and blend. The texture should be chunky.
Put it all together!
Warm the buns, put the burger on the bottom bun ( you can add cheese if you want, I don't). Top with Guac. You can add some spicy mustard if you like it, I do. Finally put the top on the bun, get ready for a yummy, sometimes messy, but always full of flavor burger! This burger will linger on your taste buds all evening.
